Output a redstone signal from a turtle with a modem

Hello, i just tried to ouput a redstone signal from a Wireless Turtle on the side where the modem is present but it didn't work (redstone.getOutput("(side)") return true but if i place some redstone next to the turtle there is no signal)

I just want to know if it's a normal behaviour or not please

Normal behaviour. Peripherals mounted on a turtle's side block redstone.
