Program Termination: Ctrl+t

Hello!

I'm in the process of creating a simple login system for a single machine, upon testing it seems to be broken and stuck in a loop. For some reason I am unable to terminate the program (startup) by using Ctrl+T. I have tested on other terminals and it seems to be a global issue. I also can't use the shortcuts to reboot or shutdown the terminals.

Has anybody had a similar issue? If so, how did you fix it?

I have installed everything correctly. I have the following addons running (all configured correctly as far as I am aware):

OptiFine (Zoom key has been re-binded to RCtrl.
ModLoader
ModLoaderMP
Minecraft Forge
Redpower
Buildcraft

All versions are latest/recommended.

Help would be greatly appreciated! I am a complete .lua noob but am hoping to build an email server with clients installed by floppy disk. I don't even know if it's possible, but I'll give it a shot. :unsure:/>/>

The guys in the IRC channel told me to hold it the shortcut down for a few seconds. It worked. :unsure:/>/>
