Could you go through what you've done to install the mod?
We can only speculate to what you've done, since we only know that you haven't done it properly.

Start minecraft once (it'll create the mods folder), then extract the computercraft zip into the mods folder that's generated.
It'll be something like:
<your minecraft dir>/bin/<your minecraft.jar, and the other files minecraft installs>
<your minecraft dir>/mods/
<your minecraft dir>/mods/ComputerCraft/ <– a folder, not a .zip file
<your minecraft dir>/mods/ComputerCraft/<a few folders, one named dan200, one named lua, etc. and mod_ComputerCraft/CCTurtle>

Note also that “<your minecraft dir>” that Advert is referring to above is not the install directory, say “C:Program FilesMinecraft”. It’s a per-user profile directory. On Linux it’s “~/.minecraft”; on Windows apparently (though I haven’t actually played Minecraft under Windows) you’ll find it in “C:UsersYourUserAppData” or somewhere similar (it may be inside another layer of directories, perhaps inside “Roaming”; also, on Windows versions other than 7 it may be in “C:Documents and Settings” or similar rather than “C:Users”).

Yes, I should have clarified that: it's in one directory lower than your minecraft.jar (.minecraft folder)
