Disk drive and floppy disk

Ok, so I know NOTHING about the disk drives and floppy disks but i know a little about computers and turtles. How do I use the floppy disk with the disk drive? What do i do with the floppy disk? Do i store a script or command in it? please help!!!

basically type
cd disk

now your in the disk then just write any programs with "edit"
then run them through either

cd disk
*your program name*

or

disk/*your program name*
